LS Industrial Systems’ range of variable speed drives has been expanded with the introduction of the new S100 VFD, high powered 600V iP5A pump control drives. The introduction of CAN open and CAN bus option modules for various models as well as additional communication modules. The iXP range of HMIs feuturing 1 200 000 colours and HD Graphics will be launched during April 2014.

Drives
The variable speed drive products are available in sizes ranging from 100 W to 13 MW, offering a comprehensive range to the South African market. Modern, ultra-reliable design, featuring full earth-fault protection on the run, even in the medium voltage drive products, combined with extensive functionality makes this range a good design choice.
The LS medium voltage drive offers market leading in this field functionality, low mains harmonics, system up-time, cost per kilowatt and near sine-wave output to the motor, without requiring extra chokes or filters.

The MV drives are also galvanically isolated on all control and analoque inputs, as well as on the motor side.

Lightning strikes on the motor therefore have no return path to earth through the drive electronics.
PLCs and Scada
LS (formerly LG) Industrial Systems has developed its PLC range to compete against the established European and American products.                                                                                                                                                      The LS XGi PLC is now branded and sold by market leading American automation houses as a DCS, using a modified version of the LS XG5000 software package.
LS also produces a high-level 32 bit scada package known as ‘InfoU’ which in incorporates a simulator and MES functionality.
Software for all LS products, except the LS InfoU scada system, is available free-of-charge, and can be downloaded from the Ana-Digi Systems website.
